Avionics Development System 2G – the heart and the brain of our test systems

ADS2 constitutes a highly integrated and versatile platform designed to create generic or special purpose test systems for the aerospace and automotive industries. The unique characteristic of the ADS2 product family is its integral approach. It provides a complete solution supporting the customer’s test areas and activities: Integration, verification and validation (IV&V) process, test methodology, generic test suites, test system core software, and test system hardware platform.

Each ADS2 system is developed to specific customer needs from a set of standardized components. The development is based on a formal requirements engineering process compliant to aerospace standards (ARP4754A).

Use Cases

ADS2 is a complete solution for multiple applications:

  • Design activities (through modelling and simulation)
  • Equipment and sub-system integration and validation
  • System integration and validation
  • System qualification
  • Safety demonstration
  • Site and on-board diagnostics
  • Maintenance and obsolescence management
  • Operation simulation and optimization (e.g. traffic analysis, energy savings)
  • Frame-based approach and realtime monitoring allowing for complete determinism of repeated test executions
  • Very fast development cycle thanks to high reconfiguration flexibility
  • Reuse of existing test cases across all test stages (e.g. HiL, SiL, MiL)
  • Complete workflow of entire V-model development process supported
  • Seamless integration with customer processes and infrastructure from prototyping to final assembly line testing
  • High performance with low latency and large data throughput
  • Flexible platform configurations from desktop systems to multi-crate test facilities through highly modular and scalable architecture
  • Integration of leading industry solutions into a common platform
  • Support of certification of aircraft systems through ARP4754A compliant process
Key Features
  • Tightly integrated tool suite, yet totally open regarding configuration and API (e.g. driver SDK)
  • Standard functionality including recording, replay, data viewer for visualization, open configuration file format, test automation, function generators, analyzer, integrated panel builder, error injection, simulation framework, session changes on the fly (without recompilation)
  • Frame rates of 500 µs and below as well as a large number of processed signals (several millions) supported
  • Support of all typical aircraft and automotive I/O as well as customer specific I/O
  • Seamless integration with third-party tools, such as SCADE, MATLAB/Simulink, or GE VAIS
  • Switching between real equipment and equipment simulation
  • Distributed real-time capability with deterministic distributed data routing and exchange
  • Maximum scalability through ADS2 cluster technology: combine single nodes or subsystem benches to complex system test facilities
